Drama continues for Kyle Walker as Annie Kilner misses family day (2024)

Kyle Walker is set for further heart break off the pitch after his wife Annie Kilner decided to miss a team family day and return straight home following England's last Euro match.

Gareth Southgate has given his players some down time today and allowed them to meet up with their partners and families following the nail biting 2-1 victory over Slovakia on Sunday in Gelsenkirchen.

But while almost all of the WAGs attending the match have remained in Germany for the family day, Annie left soon after the final whistle with the four children she shares with Kyle to board a private jet back to the UK.

A source told MailOnline: 'Annie and Kyle didn't have much to say to each other once the game was over and she left as soon as she could.

'He's not very happy about it because whatever's gone on between them, he does love his kids a lot and was looking forward to spending some time with them.

'She's been flying in for the games, mainly for the sake of the kids and has only missed one. But given the way things are between her and Kyle, she isn't ready to play happy families.

'All the players are looking forward to seeing their families but sadly, Kyle will be on his own and that's a reflection of the state of their marriage.'

A spokeswoman for Kyle Walker said: 'Annie and the boys flew out to support Kyle and the rest of the squad for their winning match against Slovakia. They will continue to support all the boys throughout the rest of the tournament as they work towards bringing the trophy home for the millions of fans watching.

'In terms of their relationship, they continue to ask for privacy so as to navigate the what the future holds for them and their children.'

Walker's Euros have been overshadowed by continuing domestic turmoil after his ex-lover Lauryn Goodman, the mother of two of his children, arrived in Germany for a match.

The influencer, 33, attended England's game against Denmark at Deutsche Bank Park stadium in Frankfurt, Germany with their son Kairo, 4. She was pictured carrying the youngster, who waved an England flag, in her arms when she arrived.

Annie, 32 was also in the stadium with three of the four children she shares with Walker, 34 although the two women were on opposite sides of the ground.

Sources indicated that Lauryn has not ruled out the possibility of attending this weekend's crucial quarter-final encounter against Switzerland.

The source added: 'The FA's security team are on high alert for this as they have been during the whole tournament. Under no circ*mstances will Lauryn be allowed to get close to Annie or any of the other WAGs.'

Annie shares sons Rezon, two months, Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, and Reign, five, with Kyle. She is expected to return to Germany with them this weekend on a private jet for the Switzerland match.

But relations between Annie and Kyle are said to be at an 'all time low' with the couple barely speaking after she discovered late last year that he had had a second child with Lauryn.

Annie was pregnant at the time with her and Kyle's fourth child.

The England camp has been trying in vain to keep a lid on stories about Walker's marital blow-up to allow the vice-captain to concentrate on his football.

As the team prepares for this weekend's quarter final, Southgate will also be keeping a close eye on his other full back, Kieran Tripper who is also tackling a tough domestic situation with his marriage reportedly on the rocks.

His home life was thrust into the limelight last week when it was revealed his wife Charlotte, 33, had posted on Instagram: 'Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you'd never get over and it's the best feeling in the world.'

Eagle-eyes fans also spotted the WAG, who has remained in the UK with her three children rather than travel to Germany to cheer on her husband, is not following his account, even though he still follows her.

A source told MailOnline that players' families had been warned by the FA about the importance of their domestic troubles not leaking out during the Euros because of the impact this might have on their performances.

The source said: 'Gareth Southgate and the FA will be furious that their approach of trying to keep personal news about the players from appearing in the media during the Euros has failed.

'The FA has made a big attempt to keep a lid on things, especially when it comes to Kyle Walker, but they've not been able to stop it, which will be very frustrating for them.

'It's actually been a bit of a disaster because first you had Lauryn Goodman going to Germany and now there's all this speculation surrounding Trippier.'

Away from the domestic strife of the team's two fullbacks, Walker and Trippier, the rest of the squad were enjoying their day off with their loved ones today - with most of the other WAGs flying to join their player partners.

The WAGs were on the move again today after a night in luxury £500 rooms and private jets laid on for them by The Three Lions. Among those seen in transit were first choice keeper Jordan Pickford's wife Megan and his reserve keeper deputy Aaron Ramsdale's wife Georgina.

They are among the WAGS who had stayed on in Germany after England's dramatic late win against Slovakia on Sunday night to enjoy their fourth free day with their partners that they have been allowed during the tournament.

They had spent the evening in Dusseldorf's five star The Wellem Hotel then used local taxis to ferry them to their private planes.

The hotel is on the same street as a noisy fan zone which last night was packed with thousands of Belgium and French fans as the women enjoyed the hotel.

But inside the WAGs were able to enjoy a more sedate evening in the luxury hotel which has five different restaurants, a high tech fitness studio and even offers guests a menu form which to choose their individual pillows for the night.

The cheapest rooms inside have 14-foot ceilings, king-size beds and 350 square feet of space.

The studio rooms have original art , a separate living room and come with a fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer and the latest Bluetooth speaker technology.

This morning they were being driven to Dusseldorf Airport and ferried to waiting aircraft.

After their private reunions the WAGs are expected to return to the UK tonight, flying out of Erfurt on flights to Liverpool, London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The England squad will then resume training tomorrow in the build up to Saturday's quarter-final match with Switzerland.

Southgate has built-in free time for the players to relax between matches last night popstar Ed Sheeran was invited to entertain the squad.
